I love all the doom and gloom going around the Internet. It just makes my job a whole lot easier. The topics of gloom and doom vary from day to day. However, one that seems to be very steady, especially lately, has been the demise of email marketing. Yes, according to some of the experts, email marketing is dead. Well, I am here to tell you that it is more than alive and well. Of course this also means that you do need to play by the rules of your success is going to be limited. Perhaps you have noticed this. Well, if you have been struggling with email marketing, this article will get you back on your way to prosperity.

First thing you need to understand is this. Spammers have made email marketing harder than ever. Because of all the junk that’s being delivered on a daily basis, ISPs have had no choice but to throw spam filtering on everybody’s accounts. Problem is, these spam filters don’t really work all that well. Perhaps you’ve noticed that you’re still getting bombarded with spam and at the same time, emails that you’re expecting aren’t arriving. I know…it’s enough to drive you crazy.

So if you want to get your emails delivered, you need to be aware of the words and phrases that are going to land you in the scrap heap. There are plenty of spam checkers online that you can use in order to find out if your email has a decent chance of getting delivered. For the most part, they’re pretty reliable, but don’t take them as gospel. Each one is going to give you different results.

Aside from getting your email delivered, there is the problem of getting it opened and read. Unfortunately, this is where a lot of email marketers fall short. They use subjects that are either so bland or boring or so ridiculous that nobody will open them. There are a number of ways to get your emails opened. Probably one of the best is simply to show people what the benefits are if they do open your email. We live in a “what’s in it for me” world. So let your prospect know what’s in it for them.

Of course, none of this matters if email marketing is truly dead. Well, I am here to assure you that it isn’t.
