You dream about an email list that converts like crazy. In your mind, you keep on thinking that with just one email, you can sell thousands of dollars worth of products. All your hopes are high. After all, everyone knows of the marketers who only need to send one simple email that reaps them crazy amounts of cash. Yet, your email newsletter is failing on all counts. Each email you send is more hopeless than the last. Here’s why.

You Are Coming Off As A Machine

Read your last newsletter that you sent out. Ask yourself- does this email sound like me? Or does it sound like what I think it should sound like? Stop creating emails that are lifeless and robotic. Try to inject some life into your emails. Help your readers make a connection with you. Yes, they want information. But they also want to know that they are not alone. Here’s a tip- share a simple story from your daily life. Relate it to what your readers want. This will make you more human in their minds. And then conversion rates will go through the roof.

You Don’t Know What You’re Saying

All of the emails you send out should have a purpose. Without it, you’re not really sending out information. Nope, you’re just sending junk mail. Focus the information in your newsletter. Short information that is focused will be much more useful than long pointless content. Do one important thing before sending out an email. Ask yourself “How will this email help my readers?” If you can’t answer it, your readers won’t be able to either.

You Are Trying Too Hard

All of us have preconceived notions of what sales is. Hyped up sales letters, TV advertisements, and pop up ads come to mind. Your subscriber list will make you much more money if you stop trying to sell. Choose to share information instead. Building relationships is the foundation to long term sales. Try to shift your thinking to accomplish this. Think “How can I help my subscriber list?” not “How can I get these people to buy?”

All it takes to get money in your pocket is to be human. Humans don’t come off as robotic, they don’t share without purpose, and they don’t need to always be selling. Keep this in mind to see your conversion rates soar with each and every email.
