Why PPC Search Engine Advertising is Affortable

Pay per click (PPC) search engine advertising is prospering as a business and more companies are jumping onto the bandwagon as you read this article. The draw of pay per click approach is that it is affordable and generates leads to let potential customers find the products or services they require.

Another benefit is that PPC acts as a filter to sieve through interested and uninterested parties. The very fact that someone clicks on your link is that they are genuinely interested with what you have to offer and willing to learn more. Also, it is more cost effective because you will not be charged for ads that are not effective since not much people clicks on it, which is not the case for banner ads.

Major search engines use the bidding process to determine the price of the specific keyword and your bill depends on how many keywords you use. This results to low prices for keywords that are not so popular and sky high prices for popular keywords because of the difference in demand. Then after this, search results are ranked according to highest bids and the keywords used.

A major downside of PPC advertising is the threat of click frauds. Click fraud refers to the practice where you set up a site which collects advertisements that use the PPC model, pay others to click on it or use automated software, then share with the profits earned by the search engine provider. A well designed automated software, whose primary use is to click on ads, can be very hard, if not impossible, to detect. They can be programmed to mask their locations, click on ads that are not directly related to one another and employ a certain delay between clicks, which makes it very hard to differentiate them from real people clicking on ads. This is why a constant vigil on the PPC advertising campaign is important. If you happen to see vast increase in the number of clicks, and hence your bill, but business has not increased and the clicker stays only for a few seconds, then you might be a victim of click fraud and should act accordingly, be it contacting the search engine provider or remove your ad.

  1. Honestly, it was like being on the search engine provider for ads. We all went the search engine provider. Ads, yeah.
