Now more than ever is the right time to get an SEO on board and re-evaluate your keywords for the short term. What ever you have currently been optimising your site for, should be tweaked for a new set of keywords.

As the financial credit crunch takes its toll on the world, we as in businesses, look for cheaper alternatives to get the word out about a specific product, this leads us to search engine optimisation. Basically SEO is one of the most affordable and best converting ways to let people know about your business. But is your SEO or are you as a business owner thinking about your short term goals? Did you know that peoples state of minds are changing, this therefore means that there online search terms are changing. For example people no longer want to search for example a “10 mega pixel camera”, instead they would probably change there search trends to something like “lowest priced 10 mega pixel camera” or “cheapest 10 mega pixel camera”. As you can see people are so worried that they are precisely entering the most affordable solution.

These searches over the next coming months are bound to explode further, especially as the Christmas period is due soon, people will be making a lot of searches to find the best deals for there gifts.

Therefore you should carefully plan your SEO vigilantly over the next coming months as you could in fact be losing a lot of revenue. Whilst we are amidst the credit crunch you have to tweak all your content and Metas towards what will best convert for you. It’s a bit like a singer moving with the times, you will need to sit down and discuss with your SEO what you would like to see being implemented, but being sure not to jeopardise your current search positions, as this is great while the economy is slow, but if the industry then picks up you will have your previous positions fully maintained.

An instance of this is a bit like the current rivalry within the supermarket industry. You have had the main superstores such as Asda and Tesco fighting for people’s custom for years, but due to financial difficulties people are switching to budget superstores such as Aldi and Lidl. So optimising your website for a new set of keywords is a must if you do not want to end up losing your customers to budget rivals.
