Email marketing a micro part of Internet marketing is one of the most cost effective marketing tool. Email marketing can be used for local and global marketing of products and services. Traditional marketing communication media in both indoor and outdoor advertising are lot more costly when compared on cost and coverage.

Newspaper and magazines are prominent print medias costs 200 times more for the same coverage as we can get in Email marketing. Television commercials taking on the number of repeats per day costs 100-200 times more than Email marketing. Outdoor media like hoarding or low cost advertisement like banners also cost 50 times more than Email marketing for the coverage of population. Email marketing requires database that can be purchased at low price or even generated for free. The cost of manpower involved into it is very low compared to output.

Moreover the cost of sending Emails is limited to internet cost Manpower cost and electricity expenses and depreciation of computer. So all put together it is low. A single person can send 100-150 mails per day by changing name and email id, so that it is not a SPAM ending in spam or bulk mail folders but going to INBOX. If the Email marketing proposal ends in the Spam or Bulk mail folder then it is futile. So gone are those days when bulk mailing softwares were used to send thousands of emails per minute. Customized Email marketing can only make an Email marketing campaign successful and put the products and services to the target audience.
