How To Put A Linked Banner In A Forum

This is how I do it.

I go to the site that I want to promote and then to the “refer a member” area. You should find banners on these pages.

I just right click on a banner and choose the “Save Picture As” option.

I then use a site called photobucket. The link is at the end of this article.

When you upload the banner to photobucket, it automatically gives you the Image Code that you need for forums. Just click where the Image code appears, and it even copies it to the clipboard for you. Then in a forum, just paste the Image code in.

This will give you the banner, but it will not be a linked banner. To link it, I’ll go back to the site like Deal Barbie, etc. and copy my referral link (where it says Your Referral URL)

Then, I will highlight the Image code back in the forum and click on the little Icon that allows you to put in a link. I’ll paste in my referral link, click ok, and this creates a linked banner for me.

This might not be the most efficient manner, but it works in all forums for me.

There is one big benefit of putting in banners this way. If a site discontinues a banner or switches things around, and you have used the direct HTML Code, you’ll end up with an X (a missing image) in your posts. Since you are linking to an image stored in your PhotoBucket album, this won’t be a concern. Also, I have found some forums don’t support a copy/paste of the Banner HTML code on individual sites such as ShiftCode GPT’s.

Just scroll down a bit. I also have a linked image of an Ipod that I set up in a similiar manner.

Hope this helps some people. This may not be the quickest method, but I have found it to be a universal method that works in all forums. And a lot of people have asked me how to do this.

Note: Once you have the linked image code created, you don’t have to recreate it for each forum. Just copy/paste it from one forum to another. In other words, I’ll just copy/paste the linked banner code that I created above, instead of recreating it in each individual forum.
