You’ve heard all the talk about how you need a list to make money online, right? But how exactly should you go about creating a list that will bring you profits from your website? This short article will answer the following questions:

  • How can you create a list?

  • How do you encourage people to join that list?

  • What will you do with the list?

The process of building a list is easy. You set up a squeeze page – a website page designed to get visitors to subscribe. This squeeze page should include a form on it with two boxes where visitors to the page can enter their name and email address. How do you set up this form? Using HTML code, this is not a technical site so 1 won’t go into details here. The best thing to do is to look at example pages and copy them, then modify according to your needs. (I have form at the bottom of this page but be careful it includes code for my list so don’t just copy and put on your site like this or you’ll add subscribers to my list!) So you need a webpage which includes a form to collect email addresses and names, easy as that.

When a visitor lands on your squeeze page they will not stay long because there is no real content on that page. You need to quickly persuade them to subscribe. How? Three things are important:  The headline should be interesting – questions are best – for example, what is the BEST way to…? The visitor will want an answer to the question and the solution is what you have to offer. The benefits to the visitor of signing up – why should he bother? FREE bonus or bonuses to make the offer more attractive. best is to offer something you have created yourself.

How to use the list to make money – Isn’t that why you’re reading this? To make money? A list is a great way to make money from your website – why?You can build trust with a list by sending regular newsletters or email campaigns. You can remind the potential customer that you exist and that you are thinking about them. You can send recommendations or offers to people who want to hear from you. You should send messages at least every week or the subscriber will forget you, your product and your website. You don’t want that. Make sure you use your real name as you send messages and try to personalise them using the subscriber’s name in the message. This builds the personal touch. People are more likely to buy when they know you.
