How to Start a Video Website – 6 Steps to Get You Started With Your Own Entertainment Website!
Starting a video website is not hard.
First, if you’re thinking about competing with YouTube, forget it. Unless you have a hundred million dollars, it’s not going to happen. Instead you must build either a niche video website or a viral video entertainment website. By niche I mean, for example: exercise videos, motorcycle videos, dance videos, stand-up comedy videos, you get the idea. Find a niche and dominate it.
By viral media websites I mean creating a website and uploading popular viral videos. These are the funny, comedy type videos you often get forwarded in email or videos you find at the top of the viral video websites.
Step 1: Buy an off the shelf video app/script. There are many choices, but the app should have several features built in. Videos, obviously, a link trading (toplist app) and room for multiple ad spots.
Step 2: Design your own logo or go to one of the many cheap logo websites and pay somebody to design one.
Step 3: Set up hosting. Most video apps are built in PHP, so you’ll need PHP hosting. You can get a quality host for ten to twenty dollars a month.
Step 4: Upload the app, configure, plug in advertising programs and then upload 50 viral videos to get started. Where you do you get videos? Type in ‘entertainment websites’ on Google and download videos from other entertainment websites.
Step 5: Start trading traffic. Go to entertainment webmaster forums and start trading links and traffic with other entertainment webmasters. Also search for ‘link dumps’ and start submitting links to your videos.
Step 6: Build loyal visitors. You do this by keeping your video website fresh. Upload fresh videos every day. One to six new videos a day should do the trick.
