Video Traffic Tips – How to Piggyback Your Way to a Multitude of Views and Traffic to Your Site

You only need to take a short trip to YouTube to realize the certainty that: Video is a hit! Video is a killer! Some of those videos out there attract thousands of views and, if they are set up the correct way, will provide the producers with tons of traffic to their sites; to their affiliate products, or their blogs. Get ready for some good news: You can piggyback on their popularity by utilizing this simple trick.

Find a Popular Video in Your Niche

First of all, you have to go to YouTube and do a search for your niche. Let’s say that it’s “weight loss”. You will then have to put those words into the search field situated on top of the page. You have to change the criteria for the search results, so click on “Search Options”, and then choose “Videos” and “View Count” as your criteria. Hopefully, you’ll now see a healthy list of videos for your niche. I obtained about 12,200 hits for “weight loss” with YouTube, showing 20 results on each page. The number one video on my list had almost 8 million views. That’s a lot! Now, let’s see if it’s possible to interest some of those viewers, and direct them to our site.

Check Out the Videos

Start with number one on your list, and then check out the video. If it’s too lengthy, you don’t necessarily have to watch it all the way through, but you should at least basically understand what it’s about. I quickly found out that the first video on the list didn’t have much to do with weight loss, so I continued on to the next. This one had almost 5 million views. Under the video, you’ll probably see many comments. Nothing special here. Even though some put their URL in the comments, it only makes them look spammy. However, you want to stand out from the herd, and encourage people to visit your site. Here’s my little secret way of doing it.

Create a Video Response

Click on “Post a comment”, and then on “Attach a Video”. This will take you to a new page, where you can either record a video with your webcam, or you can upload an existing one from your hard drive. Make sure to start your description with an URL to your site; upload the comment – and you’re done. You video will now be shown on top of all the written comments, ready to be viewed by thousands – and ready to attract visitors through your link.
