Doing it yourself – Do no add your site to any web directory, find quality and relevant directories. Pay for featured listings where applicable. This will expose you and get you clicks. Most of the top directories, receive thousands of visitors every day.

You can learn how to do it on your own. You are also encouraged to let specialized companies make this task easier for you. They will most likely run a successful campaign for you. PPC is one of the most effective marketing techniques to consider.

Doing it yourself – You will need to register with some of the search engines or providers first. You can then access your account and set up a campaign. Most providers will instruct you on how to use their services. Some will even provide you with personal assistants to set up your campaign.

Press releases – A press release helps you send important news about your website or business to thousands of news agencies, news websites, blogs, specialized websites and the like. This will in turn expose you to thousands of people and also get you links. Press releases are good for customer relations and business branding. When you blast a press release, the media (if interested in what you are saying) will pick it up and anchor it to many people. Be compelling and do not over advertise.

Doing it yourself – Provided you have a list of news agencies, simply send your press release/s to them. If you want to send it to news websites like Google News, Digg or Yahoo! News, in most cases you will need to create an account before submitting or get a PR agency to do all the work for you. Some press release submission sites let you submit your news to hundreds of sites or agencies for free.

Video marketing – There are thousands of video sites that will allow you to upload videos. You can upload a short presentation, text presentation, a simple webcam video, a professional video, etc.

Doing it yourself – Before submitting your video, be sure to optimize it. You will need to sign up with these various sites before you can upload your video. Each site will provide you with instructions on how to upload your videos. This is usually not the difficult part; making the video is.

Offline marketing – Traditional methods of promoting a business will also help bring potential customers to your site.

Doing it yourself – You may wish to advertise in newspapers, radio broadcasts, television ads, handouts, mail outs and so forth. These are the traditional methods. This method is very effective, if people want what you are offering.

Specialty sites – Special sites may consist of sites that only deal with your niche, product or business. For example, educational websites will chose to accept only educational materials. These sites specialize in your domain and perhaps offer the same services you provide. This is advantageous and is likely to lead to conversions.

Doing it yourself – You will have to search in directories or search for these special sites. In most cases you will know by the content of the site.

Banner ads – Create an online (or even an offline banner) and promote it elsewhere. Banner ads are very effective due to their visual effects.

Doing it yourself – You will need a software or a designing tool to do this. Once your banner is created, you can then submit it to a “banner ad network”, search engines or websites that accept banners. Make sure the sites receive a lot of traffic. This will be to your advantage. Do not place ads on low traffic sites unless it is for back-link purposes.
