While creating a website, domain name registration is the first step. It’s not enough to create a website but it’s the basic step that anyone have to complete to create a website. A domain name is a memorable address on the Internet such as yoursite.com, yoursite.info, etc. which points to a specific server address where your website is hosted.

Now you need a webhosting service to host your website to which your domain name will point. Webhosting service is different from domain name registration service. It provides you with the infrastructure to host your website. A website is a collection of web pages and your web pages will be hosted on servers provided by your webhosting service provider. You can create your own web pages to be hosted on server or you can use content management scripts to create a website. There are many CMS available in the market. Your webhosting provider should provide you with few free CMS scripts that you can install on your hosting server with a simple click. You can also hire web developers to create website for you according to your requirements and then can host that website on the webhosting account.

After installing CMS or after uploading your web pages on your hosting account, you need to make changes in your domain name control panel so that your domain name points towards your webhosting service. This is done by name servers. You need to change the name servers in your domain name control panel as directed by your webhosting provider.

Once your domain name starts pointing towards your website, your website is ready to be served on Internet. But is a domain name and webhosting service enough to create a website? Yes, its enough for a personal website and sometime for some business websites also but you still need few more things to complete your website creation. You need a personalized email for your domain name to which you can be contacted by your website visitors. You can set up personalized emails using Google Apps or some other email clients.

With all these, you might require an autoresponder account. Autoresponder is a software that answers emails on your behalf. It automatically collects email addresses of your website visitors and send them information or sales letters you have specified in your autoresponder account. This is useful in case you need to follow up with your website visitors to convince them to buy your services or products. A domain name costs around $10 per year and a good webhosting service would cost you around $3 per month and an autoresponder account would cost you around $15 per month. So to create your website you need these three things. Be careful while choosing your domain name because that is your identity on the world wide web.

Do you know now its possible to get a domain name, webhosting, customized emails and autoresponder for the cost of just a domain name? Register domain name at http://www.domainswith.info and get webhosting, customized emails and autoresponder free for life.

Domain name is the address you type into your web browser ending in.com or.net or.co.uk ie Google.com or Google.co.uk or twitter.com Domain names can have a big influence on your SEO (search engine optimisation) and can influence the speed of indexing and how high your site is ranked, and can also have a very direct impact on how much money you can make.

It can be a difficult choice. You are looking for an SEO friendly domain. Keyword research is very important in any optimisation as ideally you are looking for a keyword that is searched for many times, but has low competition. This is an idealised view, and rarely seen so easily, but you get the general picture.

Once you have you a keyword or phrase it is important to use this phrase when choosing a domain name. Although the search engines haven’t come out and admitted it, all the evidence points to the fact that they see keywords and phrases as an important factor in ranking.

There are three categories of keyword matching options. Exact match, phrase match and broad match.

Exact Match matches your keyword or phrase in the domain exactly. For instance if your keyphrase is ‘bird seed’ then the exact match domain would be ‘birdseed.com ‘

Phrase match has the keywords in the right order in your domain but with an extra word also to create a new phrase. Using the bird seed example that could be ‘buybirdseed.com’

Broad match has the keywords in a different order, also with an extra word or two thrown in. For example ‘seedbirdonline.com’

There is also non keyword optimised domains, which don’t have any of your keywords included. Again taking the above example this could be ‘avianfood.com’

Generally non keyword phrases are most suited for companies with an established brand, or trying to build a brand. This doesn’t mean that these domains can not be used for your chosen keyphrase, it just makes it a little more difficult. With all other ranking factors being equal then the search engines will rank in the following order: Exact, then phrase and finally broad.

When it comes to registering a domain name for your website, there are a couple of things that you need to look out for. Now of course, they are services out there that offer you a free domain and free hosting of websites. However, realistically if you do want to make it online, you need to register a Web domain name, and even go as far as hosting the domain name as well. The reason I say this is purely being from a professional point of view. You are creating a business presence online.

Few people know that making use of free hosting services. It does require that you understand their terms and conditions, when signing up for the service, if you are new to the whole Internet business online. Then I suggest you do read a lot more on a free web hosting service and weigh up the pros and a cons.

When you get a Web domain name registration, down in your company’s trading name. It starts to create a professional presence of your business on the online world. You will also be able to have a professional e-mail address that will contain your domain name and allow you to seen professional, when sending and receiving e-mail.

Another thing that you need to look out for when wanting to register a domain name would be to register a domain name in the service that you provide instead of the company’s name. Example, don’t register, “Smith & Sons Plumbing.com” rather try to register “plumbing.com”. The reason for this, is you want people typing in the word plumbing, relating back to your business and creating a marketing channel through your website. Few people, will type “Smith and Sons plumbing” in their favorite search engine to get to your website. They would rather type in plumbing and look for a solution to the current plumbing problems.

Next, you will want to make use of a domain registrar company that will allow you to register the domain name that you are seeking, and if you are new to this. You will also need to find a web server or hosting company. Luckily, for you, most domain name registrars do provide a web hosting service as well. In other words, try and keep everything under one company and package so that if you have any queries. Later, you can always contact a single company and get a direct answer, whether it be domain name registration or your hosting account.

The last bit of information that I would want to provide you. Do not delay your option on registering a domain name. Longer you take to register a domain name that greater the chance that somebody else will register that domain name.

Business Domain Name Registration and Trademark Protection Domain name registration is an important step for any business. Almost all businesses need to be online even if only for PR. Sometimes we don’t have all the information in order to take a decision regarding a Domain Name.

What is a Domain Name?
-Your Domain Name is your property on the Internet. It is the name of your space on Internet.
-Every Domain Name contains two or more name components separated by periods.
-The last part of the address, (com, net, org, us, ca, uk), is called the “Top Level Domain”.
-The second part of the domain is what we call the “Second Level Domain”. Examples of Second Level Domains are: com.uk, or on.ca. The Second Level Domains are a great way to organize geographically or functional the Domain Names, (on.ca for example is the SLD for Ontario – Canada).

Why do we need a domain name?

A domain name is needed when you want to be present on the web. It is a way to translate your server’s address into a nice looking, easy to remember address.

Marketing and PR are other two major reasons. You want to brand your Web Site and personalize it. A Domain Name is a great opportunity to do that.

Search Engine ranking is another reason. There is been a lot of discussions on this subject and it seems that Search Engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. are taking in consideration the domain name of your website in their ranking algorithm and search results.

Trademark protection is also important these days and if you don’t use a domain name with your company’s name someone else will use it, and reap off the benefits.

How to choose a good domain name?

Use these guidelines when you are choosing your domain name:

Choose a name as short as possible. It is easier for your visitors to remember a short name.

It has to be related to your company name or to your products.

What TLD, (Top Level Domain), should I choose? Try to stick with the original designation of the TLD. For example,.com is for commercial institutions,.org is for noncommercial organizations, etc…

How Many Years Should I register my Domain Name?

The longer you register your Domain Name the better. Some search engines give you some extra points in their rankings if you register for longer periods. That means you are serious and you plan to be there for a long time. If you register for 5 years you get a great discount, most of the registrars give you the best discount for 5 years. However, if you register for more than 10 years, your investment might become wasted; the technology changes fast and we don’t know what the Domain Name Space will look like in 15 years.

How to choose my Registrar?

-Your registrar is an important thing since you will have to deal with him a lot. The Registrar Market is constantly changing, however big registrars are the most likely to survive over time, which is critical for you as a domain name owner.
-The Domain Name administration is not an easy task and sometimes involves technical knowledge.
-Make sure you choose a good and established Registrar that offers you most of the features possible.
-Good technical support is another key element.
-Cost is probably one of the most important elements for many of us especially if it’s a starter website. But don’t try to go too cheap, because you will end up by paying more.

Many people turn to internet for answers to questions and regularly look up various websites to fulfill different needs- from product purchase to fulfillment of entertainment needs. Inevitably, these resources have to be hosted on a computer server, and should be made easy to retrieve upon a simple search. If you intend to host this information online, you need to first understand that this is a paid service. You have to actually pay the host company to secure an internet address and they will provide the service of hosting that information on your behalf.

You’ll need to undergo domain name registration by choosing an available and specific address name. There are several websites offering such service, and you need to check with them to ensure that the desired domain name is still available. The names are highly personalized and as a general rule, no duplicates are allowed to prevent confusion of website addresses. Next up, proceed to make payment to the respective host company. Payment is usually in the form of a monthly or an annual fee and the fees vary, depending on the type and terms set by the host server. Internet address is often regarded as a form of intellectual property with indefinite value but can be freely traded. Therefore, domain name registration is required to enable your website be listed in an international domain name registry and for people to be able to look up your internet address.

Some countries have slightly stricter regulation regarding domain name approval. You may be required to present proof of document related to patent or trademark to secure certain addresses. You can also move your internet address from one host to another, and activation of the paid address usually takes place within a short period of time.

Generally, domain name registration is a hassle-free process and you can do so with minimal fee involved. However, locate a suitable host and choose an appropriate internet address name. One that’s easy to remember and unique will be advantageous.

At the end, I’d like to share cool website with more information on topics like Free Domain and Free Domain Name. Visit for more details.

Ever wondered how websites are named? What if you wanted to name a website after your name but discovered that there is already an existing website of the same address? This is where the concept of domain name registration comes in.

Every computer in the World Wide Web is uniquely identified by an IP (Internet Protocol) address. For example, the Yahoo homepage has the IP address of 209.191.93.53, Google’s is 74.125.67.100, and MySpace’s is 63.135.80.49. For human internet users, memorizing these addresses just to be able to go to the particular website seems inappropriate and unappealing. Just imagine the millions of websites in the internet. Within that huge number, you must know the particular IP address of the website you intend to visit. To make navigation and website browsing a whole lot easier, the concept of domain names came into existence.

Domain names are the string of letters that you type in the address bar of your internet browser. Examples are www.google.com, and MySpace. They navigate you to the website homepage, same as when the IP address is typed into the address bar. But compared to the former method, this one is a lot easier to do, right? That is exactly the purpose of domain names – to provide an easy-to-remember name that will uniquely identify a particular website among the millions already existing today.

The owner of the website has the freedom to choose the domain name, provided that it is unique. A domain name server (DNS) holds a list of existing domain names in the internet with its corresponding IP addresses. This serves as a reference table for translating the website name to its corresponding IP address during navigation. Owning a domain name is on a first-come-first-served basis and the inclusion of your domain name in the DNS has a fee. Websites, especially business-related ones, aim to acquire a domain name that will be easily remembered and will effectively summarize the content of their websites. For example you are making a site tribute to King of Pop Michael Jackson. A good domain name for the site is www.michaeljackson.com. Issues arise if another person has already owned that domain name and you want to have that name for your website. What you can do is buy that domain name from the owner. Certain arrangements are made including bidding (if more than one person wants the domain name).

Several websites in the internet have popped out offering easy ways to acquire a domain name and to undergo the process of domain name registration. You have the choice of getting a ‘.com’, ‘.org’, and many others for your website. Your choice just affects which DNS the website’s domain will be registered and also the fee to be charged. Commonly, the fee is charged annually. If you were not able to pay for your domain name and your subscription has expired, the website will not be displayed when the domain name is typed in the address bar and it will be available for claiming by other website makers.

Domain name registration is a must for those who are planning to build a website. Choose a good domain name for the website, one which contains keywords related to the content of the site. This will make visiting and remembering your website easier.

Own your own .WS “WebSite” Domain Name registration, visit http://excellenthosting.info today!

Just as your house has a street address so your visitors can find your home, so too does your website. The domain name, usually in the form of mysite.com, is the address of your website which is the home of your site and its pages and content; people will type this address into their browser in order to visit your website. For example, the domain name – or web address – for Google is Google.com

Usually the domain name points to your home page, the main page of your site; this is generally named index.html and this is highly recommended but it can be almost any name.

When you choose your domain name it is advisable to select a name that is as short and as descriptive as possible. For example JonesFamily.com or MyBambooCrafts.com

Which suffix should I select?

There are many suffixes to choose from, including but not limited to .com, .net, .us, .name, .org etc. Select the most appropriate suffix; for example if you are building a website for a church community then possibly the .org suffix is the appropriate one. For personal and business websites most people will automatically type .com so I would recommend you choose a .com suffix if possible.

Individual countries also offer country-specific suffixes such as .com.it (for Italy) and .com.au (for Australia) however these are often reserved for registered businesses in those countries and so are not available for personal websites.

The selection of your domain name is important and you should take the time to seek out the most suitable one. If your selection is already registered by someone else, consider adding a hyphen to your name selection, for example Jones-Family.com or consider adding another word such as TheJonesFamily.com

How do I register my domain name?

There are numerous domain name registration companies online (for example ezidomainnames.com), but most website hosting companies offer both domain name registration service as well as provide the hosting space you need for your pages and images and I would recommend this path, so you have both your domain name and your web space organized for you by the same company.

John D Ross is with Gold Tower Host, an internet company specializing in affordable domain name registrations and website hosting services. If you have questions you are invited to contact John at any time via the contact link on http://www.GoldTowerHost.com/.
