Have You Submitted Your Site to the Organic Search Engines?
Have you submitted your website URL to the Organic Search Engines? There are hundreds of search engines on the World Wide Web, but there are only three important ones that you need to worry about, as all the other smaller search engines feed off of these three. They are Google, Yahoo and MSN. When you submit your website for inclusion in all of these search engines, it may take a few weeks for your site to show up, as the engines are only updated every couple of weeks.
Make sure that your website is relevant, or Google won’t accept you. When you submit your website, it doesn’t mean that it will shoot to the first page, this will take time and depend on the quality and content of your keywords and your website. But to get more traffic in the long run, make sure that you get listed. When you submit your website, you can do it in one of two ways. The first is to do it directly on the Search Engines and the other is through links such as articles or blogs. This is how to go about submitting your site directly:
Yahoo:
Open up the Yahoo main page and then scroll down to the bottom. Click on ‘submit your site’ and follow the instructions.
MSN:
Open up MSN.com and type your URL address in the search bar in quotes and search. If your site is listed it will show or it will take you to a page to list it in.
Google:
Here you need to go to Google.com/addurl and you can then enter your site with comments that are relevant.
You will probably see your site listed first on MSN, then Yahoo and lastly on Google, as they tend to be stricter.
